[Voice Memo 2 - Zain - recorded at a coffee shop, background chatter]

So I talked to like 8 parents this week about the tutoring thing and wow, I learned a LOT. Some of it changes my plan completely.

First thing: parents don't want weekend tutoring. Well, some do, but most said their kids already have tuition on weekdays and the weekend is their only break. But here's the thing -- they said they'd LOVE weekday evening sessions instead. Like 4-7 PM after school. Hmm. That's tricky with my bank job since I work till 5. Maybe I could do 6-7:30 PM sessions? That's tight but doable.

Actually wait, some parents DID want weekends. The ones with younger kids especially. And some said either works. So maybe... both? Weekend for O-Level (younger students) and weekday evenings for A-Level (older students who can come later)?

Second thing: pricing. Multiple parents said 15,000 is too low. Like, they literally said "if you charge too little, people won't take you seriously." One parent said the good tutors charge 20-25K for small groups. She said she'd happily pay 20K if the quality is there. This is interesting -- maybe I should charge MORE not less?

But then another parent said she has 3 kids and needs something affordable. So maybe I need tiered pricing? Premium small group at 20K and a larger group option at 12K? I don't know, that feels complicated.

Third: EVERYONE asked about my qualifications. Having A-star grades is good but parents want to know: do you have teaching experience? certifications? references? I don't have any of these. One parent suggested I offer a free trial class to build credibility. That's smart.

Oh also -- 3 of the 8 parents asked about online tutoring option. Like Zoom classes for kids who can't travel. I hadn't thought about that at all. Could be huge for reaching students in other cities. But it's a different setup -- need good internet, maybe a tablet for writing, screen sharing...

[pause, coffee order sounds]

OK where was I. Oh -- subjects. So here's the thing. Half the parents asked about English and Urdu. Like, these are the subjects their kids are actually FAILING. Maths and physics are important but there's already lots of tutors for those. The gap is in languages and... get this... computer science. Two parents specifically asked about computer science. Cambridge O-Level Computer Science. That's actually something I could do, I studied CS in university.

So now I'm thinking maybe the subject mix should be different. Maybe: Maths, Physics, AND Computer Science? Or even drop physics and add English?

No, no. I should start with what I'm best at. Maths and physics. Add subjects later when I hire other tutors.

Wait, hiring? I said this was just me. Let me not get ahead of myself.

One more thing -- location. My apartment building isn't great for this. No parking, the guard gives visitors a hard time, and my neighbor already complained once when I had friends over for a cricket match. Maybe I should rent a small classroom space? There's a community center near DHA that rents rooms by the hour. Or maybe a co-working space that has a classroom setup?

Ok I need to think about this more. Lots of changes from the original plan.
