Phase 3 project handoff

Before Module 14 begins in earnest, you must confirm your Phase 3 project (Modules 11–13: Deploying ML Models) has been submitted. This handoff represents the culmination of the AI/ML lifecycle work you began in Phase 1 and matured through Phase 2 — a live-deployed, monitored ML solution with the documentation and stakeholder communication artefacts that make it defensible at your EPA.

  • Deliverable 1: Deployment artefact

The ML model deployed to a production or testing environment with a justified architecture, resource choices, version control, and rollback strategy.

  • Deliverable 2: Monitoring plan

Real-time monitoring for model and data drift, proactive adaptation plan, and lifecycle management strategy including decommissioning criteria.

  • Deliverable 3: Technical documentation

Comprehensive documentation covering architecture, deployment, monitoring, retraining, and lifecycle for both technical and audit audiences.

  • Deliverable 4: Audience-specific communication artefacts

Presentations, reports, and briefings tailored to technical peers, product/business stakeholders, and non-technical leadership.

  • Deliverable 5: Bias-mitigation evidence

Documented evaluation of fairness, bias, and responsible-AI considerations across data, model behaviour, and deployment context — with the mitigations you applied and the residual risks you accept.

Phase 3 submission checklist​

Confirm each of the following before you continue with Module 14:

  • Deployment artefact live in production or a representative test environment.
  • Monitoring plan implemented, with alerting and drift-detection thresholds documented.
  • Technical documentation complete and reviewed with your coach.
  • Audience-specific communication artefacts prepared for at least one technical and one non-technical audience.
  • Bias-mitigation evidence recorded, including limitations and residual risks.

Instructions: Review each deliverable above with your coach. Flag any gaps now — Module 14 assumes Phase 3 is complete so that we can focus entirely on EPA preparation for AM1 and AM2.
