This module focuses on two key skills that you will develop by completing async units and attending workshops:

  • **Skill 1:**Create and implement monitoring systems that track ML model performance.
  • **Skill 2:**Design ML systems that can scale efficiently, managing growing data volumes and increasing model complexity while maintaining performance and cost-effectiveness.
  • Skill 3: Manage and monitor the full ML life cycle for compliance and resource optimisation.

Create and implement monitoring systems that track ML model performance​

In 2022, Netflix enhanced its content recommendation engine by deploying real-time monitoring systems that detect performance drift and content fatigue across regions.

By catching early signs of drift, Netflix prevented a decline in user engagement and retention — enabling dynamic adjustments to keep recommendations fresh and relevant.

By integrating feedback loops from user interactions, the system could proactively suggest retraining schedules and auto-adjust parameters based on evolving behaviour.
