As this module focuses on preparing you for the EPA, let's make sure we understand all the requirements for each assessment method.

AM1: Project with reportAssessment Method 1 consists of:

  • A work-based project that represents typical business tasks, appropriate for demonstrating the skills and knowledge of the standard.

  • 5,000 word project report for a project that creates business value

  • 20 minute presentation of the project and evaluation report

  • Answer a minimum of 6 questions based on your project and presentation (30 minutes) Additional information:

  • AM1 is a 5,000 word project report which you must complete during a 8-week window afteryour Gateway meeting.

  • The project itself must be completed after your Gateway meeting.

  • At Gateway, you need to submit the title and scope for your project and you will have 8 weeks to complete the project and submit the report.

  • Once you have submitted your project and report, you will have a live virtual assessment during which you will do a 20-minute presentation based on your project report, followed by a 30-minute Q&A on the work you presented. All of AM1 is assessed and counts towards your final grade.

AM2: Professional Discussion of PortfolioAssessment Method 2 consists of:

  • 90-minute discussion based on your professional portfolio of work

  • You will build your portfolio of evidence over the course of the program Additional information:

  • This is the professional discussion which is underpinned by your portfolio.

  • You will submit a portfolio at your gateway meeting. The assessor will read this to inform the questions they’ll ask at the professional discussion, then you will have an 90-minute live professional discussion based around what you wrote in your portfolio.

  • You will work on your portfolio throughout your apprenticeship, submitting projects at the conclusion of each phase of the program that will combine to make up your portfolio.

  • Only the 90-minute professional discussion is assessed and counts towards your final grade, but the portfolio is extremely important as it informs the conversation you will have during the professional discussion.

For Workshop 1:

  • You will need your WBP summary draft. Make sure you review your feedback beforethe session. Confirm with your manager the details and be prepared to submit by closing

  • We also recommend that you review the materials under Assessment Method 1 in your EPA Module, including the grading criteria for AM1. For Workshop 2:

  • If you have not done so already, you should review the feedback you have received from your coach for each piece of evidence.

  • If additional time, make the edits to your evidence accounting for your coach's feedback
