We are excited to welcome you to Workshop 1 of the Phase 3 hackathon.
Working with the group you formed in Hackathon 2 and the model you refined there, you'll now deploy that model into a production or test environment. In Workshop 2 you'll add monitoring, lifecycle planning, and stakeholder communication. At the end of the hackathon, you'll present your deployed solution to your peers and instructor.
The areas you'll work through
As you take your model from a notebook to a live service, you'll work through five connected areas:
- Deployment architecture
Translate your refined model into a reproducible, deployable artefact — a live URL, a docker-compose harness, or a portable container.
- Version control and rollback Version model artefacts and deployment configuration, and define how you would roll back safely if something goes wrong.
- Scalability, security, and cost Make justified decisions about resource allocation, secure endpoints, and cost-efficient scaling for the traffic you expect.
- Explainability foundations Wire in explainability tooling (SHAP or LIME) so that individual predictions can be interrogated by stakeholders.
- Deliverable readiness Capture the deploy artefact, README, and reproduction steps that will feed into your monitoring plan and stakeholder presentation.

The workshops will move quickly! Keep an eye on the schedule and work with your team to set mini-deadlines. Remember, good time management will be crucial for delivering a cohesive presentation in the wrap up.
