In this hackathon workshop, you focused on monitoring a live ML solution, planning its full lifecycle, and communicating its value and risk to diverse stakeholders. The same approach can be applied directly in your day-to-day role.

Monitor what matters and adapt with evidence

Use the mindset from this workshop to strengthen how you operate systems and processes:

• Choose a small set of monitoring signals that map directly to business outcomes.
• Define upfront what "healthy" looks like — and what a genuine problem looks like.
• Treat drift and change as expected, not exceptional, and plan a response before you need it.

Communicate value to the audience in front of you

Apply what you practised in the stakeholder presentation to make work land:

• Tailor depth, language, and framing to the specific stakeholder in the room.
• Lead with impact and risk; keep technical detail available but not front-loaded.
• Use explanations and artefacts (SHAP / LIME examples, monitoring snapshots, runbooks) that a listener can take away and reuse. This approach helps move work from "we built something" toward "we operate something that stakeholders trust and understand."

Action item: Share how you will apply new skills to your role.

Think about a live system, process, or decision in your role that could benefit from stronger monitoring and clearer communication:

• What are the two or three signals you would monitor first — and why those?
• Which stakeholder is currently under-served by how the system's behaviour is communicated?
• What would a decommissioning or graceful shutdown plan look like if the system were retired tomorrow?

Think about areas in your organisation where:

• A live service or process has no clear owner watching it for drift or degradation.
• Stakeholders currently only hear about a system when it breaks.
• End-of-life plans and handover documentation are missing or out of date.
